EVERYFOURYEARS
For this project I was to create a fictional magazine that's subject was all things surrounding the Olympic games. I have always really enjoyed the poster art created to advertise each of the games and so I made that the topic of my editorial spread.
For the cover I decided to merge the masthead with the main cover image, using a clipping mask on the image I chose for the cover. The contrast created by the white background and the artwork of the cover image makes for a unique looking masthead that celebrates the featured cover story.
For the feature spread I chose to use a flame (as you would find on an Olympic torch) filled with olympic posters from previous games to represent the "visual torch" mentioned in the title of the article.
Along with the publication, an editorial website was also created. Shown below is the Figma prototype.
